BUILDING A BETTER FUTURE

BUILDING A BETTER FUTURE
Conversation with the Council featuring Connor Lynch, CEO, Plastridge Insurance
There is a reason Plastridge Insurance has been around for more than 100 years. Their commitment to integrity, trust, and customer service has allowed them to develop lifelong bonds with their clients. CEO Connor Lynch, who is following in his father and grandfather’s footsteps, leads a team of 100 employees in four locations. “I feel my leadership style is based in creating win-win opportunities in all areas.”
They have a fantastic employee culture. Two of their employees have been with the company for over fifty years and many others have an admirable longevity as well. The team regularly volunteers in the community, supporting numerous non-profits throughout South Florida. A key to Connor’s success is the high value he places on relationships with his customers, being there 24/7 when a disaster strikes. And with his staff. “I continue to learn and do my best to make decisions quickly, stay open to feedback, and adapt as needed.” That same approach works with his three children, twin thirteen-year-old boys and his sixteen-year-old daughter.
Like his father, Tom, Connor takes great pride in his membership in the Economic Council of Palm Beach County. His involvement keeps him in the loop with his peers as they share ideas to continue elevating the business community. “It allows me to have regular conversations with other business owners and executives that help me stay current on topics impacting business and help keep Palm Beach County a desirable place to do business.” However, he knows there are challenges that need to be addressed. “Housing is an issue, as is the lack of affordable housing. The cost of living is higher, and hunger is a concern. I believe these community issues impact business.” Yet he is confident Palm Beach County will maintain a strong economy. “We need to continue to bring the right people to the table, have open dialogue on the issues, identify items with the most impact in moving the needle, and then monitor progress.”
Progress is what pushes Connor personally. He is driven to be his best and has found inspiration from numerous books focused on insights to help him improve personally and discover his best self. “The Untethered Soul and the Four Agreements have both been impactful books in helping me open my mind.” One of those agreements is being impeccable with your word, and based on his company’s rich history, I would say they are doing just that.
